Super lady fighting for the underdog

We Fight For The Underdogs

Canada's unsung heroes deserve access to fair & affordable health benefits.

Our Early Beginnings

Fed up with current status quo of how insurance companies raked millions in undeserved profit, our founder Mark Faiz saw an opportunity to disrupt the health benefits industry.

In 2000, he sought out to create a health benefits company that would be transparent, fair & ethical. Treating members as owners and giving back their unused premiums proved to resonate with small business owners across Canada.

Beneplan Team

A message from the CEO

The millions we give back represents what insurance companies normally keep for profit. We don't believe this is fair. There's a win-win when you focus on transparency, community and not just your bottom line.

FREQUENTLY ASKED

Have Questions?

What is a co-operative?

A co-operative is a legally incorporated organization that is owned by its members, who use the co-operative's services or purchase their products. Members determine how the co-operative operates, elect the Board of Directors, and allocate the profits amongst its member-owners.

Historically, co-operatives were formed in communities amoungst local artisans and workers who shared common goals and benefited from banding together to share profits and cover losses. There are many examples of co-operatives such as credit unions, retailers, grocery stores, farms and energy companies.

Are there membership fees to join Beneplan?

There is no cost to join and no membership fee.

Can the Co-operative end up in a deficit?

The co-operative is protected by Stop Loss and has also set up significant reserves over the years that could be used for such an unlikely event. Due to its large size, it is virtually impossible for the entire co-operative to be in an overall deficit. To date, we have never been in an deficit.
